Trends in palliative care in Australian hospitals and Identifying palliative care separations in admitted patient data: technical paper (AIHW)
Trends in palliative care in Australian hospitals Trends in palliative care in Australian hospitals provides an overview of the nature and extent of palliative care separations in public and private hospitals across Australia for the 10-year period from 1999-00 to 2008-09. These separations may have occurred in a dedicated palliative care ward, a hospice or in other admitted patient beds in a hospital. The report indicates that there has been a substantial increase in the number of palliative care separations in admitted patient settings over time.
